Past Workshops & Events

The following workshops and events took place at the Okanagan and Vancouver campuses during the consultation and evaluation phases of the Learning Technology Environment Renewal project:


  • January-April: 10 pilot courses were run during the W2 term (5 in Brightspace and 5 in Canvas)
  • March 24: Evaluation committee recommends both vendors move to the RFP (Request For Proposal) stage
  • January-February: Several evaluation activities at both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses were held including exploratory sessions, vendor presentations/drop-in sessions, usability testing, sandboxes, and surveys


  • December 6-9: Vendors (Canvas and Brightspace) partner in building pilot courses
  • November 8-December 1: RFQ (Request For Qualifications) released to vendors and evaluation began
  • December: Pilot courses selected for the following term
  • August-October: Requirements were obtained from faculty and students through online surveys, feedback sessions, department and 1:1 meetings, town hall events, and emails
