More focused sessions on particular learning technologies are scheduled regularly during the academic year. These are the currently available offerings.


Canvas Drop-In Studios

Canvas Studios is a drop-in space for anyone with questions related to UBC’s new learning management system Canvas. Here is your chance to sit down with a Canvas support person and review your course design, explore migrating your course from Connect to Canvas, or troubleshoot challenges.

When and where

Canvas Studios generally take place every Monday between 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the LT Hub in the Fraser River room, second-floor CTLT offices in Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (1961 East Mall).Please visit the Canvas Studio events page for upcoming sessions.

WordPress and Wiki Clinics

These drop-in clinics are for users of UBC Blogs or CMS websites and offer one-on-one help by WordPress/Wiki experts to support your teaching and learning goals. Please come prepared with a list of questions specific to your site, and specialists at the clinic will assist you in addressing and resolving your questions.

When and where

Clinics generally take place at the LT Hub every Thursday between 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the second-floor CTLT offices in Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (1961 East Mall).

edX Studio Drop-In Sessions

In each of these sessions, you will learn about a tool or functionality of the edX/Edge platform and practice hands-on work with guided support. The sessions are geared towards those in the UBC Community using edX/Edge in online or blended learning. You will leave the studio session with helpful resources, best practices, and practical suggestions for implementing this platform.

Sessions are planned regularly throughout the academic year and are generally held at the LT Hub located in the second-floor CTLT offices in Irving K. Barber Learning Centre (1961 East Mall).

Qualtrics Studio Drop-In Sessions

This year UBC adopted a new survey tool Qualtrics. Qualtrics is a powerful tool that offers UBC Faculty, and staff with new functionality in survey creation, data-analysis, and reporting. Join us for the the bi-weekly qualtrics studio to explore qualtrics together and to receive support and guidance using this tool.


The session is geared towards those in the UBC Community using Qualtrics as a teaching and research tool. It will be a an open hands-on session. Bring your laptop and questions.
